Rainie Yang offered $50,000,000 to renew contract with SonyBMG

Next month on the 7th, Rainie will release her new album “Not Yet A Woman” but her 5-year contract with SonyBMG comes to an end this month. Now, they are proposing $50,000,000 for the next 3 years, including plans for Japan and Korea, for “No. 1 sister” to renew her contract.

For the past few years, Rainie and SonyBMG have co-operated very well, plus with the good results from her ads and dramas this year, there is a very high chance that she will renew her contract. If she does sign however, she will break the billion-dollar threshold.

From when she was only 16 years old, she signed under BMG as a part of a teenage girl group “4 In Love”. After they disbanded, she signed a 5-year contract of $5,000,000 with SonyBMG. Her first album “Ambiguous” was an unexpected success, and she established a place for herself as a little “queen of advertisements.”

Sources report that although this time’s proposed contract of $50,000,000 cannot compare with Jolin’s $120,000,000 for switching from Capitol, Rainie’s situation is quite rare, as she is not only a singer, but she also does acting, hosting and filming ads, hence she has considerable commercial value. Hence, they are planning for her to develop further in Japan and Korea next year, and release a single.

Rainie who has the title of “Princess of Cute” is fully co-operating with a new mature style to go with her new album, which includes revealing her shoulders and legs. When asked why she does not reveal her breasts, she laughed and said that she’s only 32B, hence “nothing much to reveal la!” As for renewing her contract, her manager expressed, “We have been very happy co-operating with SonyBMG, but right now, we are putting all our time and effort into her new album, so we will see after that.”
