TOKYO —American singer Mariah Carey, 38, kept 5,000 fans waiting for one hour before she showed up for a 10-minute event in Venus Fort in Tokyo on Sunday afternoon. Carey, who sang at the MTV Video Awards in Saitama on Saturday night, attended a special event held in a church inside to celebrate with newly married couples.

Carey later went shopping at a toy store. Someone asked the asked the newly married Carey how to find the right partner and she replied, “If you pray to God, you will find the one.” At the event, she gave a “Mariah Chair” to Venus Fort for couples.
