Pace Wu stays pace

China's Mid-Autumn Festival is a time for family reunions. People gather to enjoy the moon and to savour moon cakes. One of the evening's major events is the gala presented by China Central Television every year. It's become established as a tradition for many Chinese around the world. This year, the famous Taiwan model Pace Wu takes the mic as one of this year's co hosts.

Pace Wu is famous for her perfect figure. It's said to conform to the golden section or "divine proportion." The former model is pursued by media and by fans trying to find insight into her fashionable sense of style and secrets of her beauty. Her book "All About A Girl" reached the best seller lists soon after it was published.

Many believe Pace Wu started her career as a model. But actually, her singing talent was spotted first. She was discovered when she was 19, by the famed singer Jeremy Chan. Soon after, Wu released her first single "My Space". The strong electronic style fully revealed Wu's youthful vibrancy.

The hit tune was just the start. Soon Pace Wu released her first Chinese Mandarin album, "All My Pace". She wrote the lyrics for six of the pieces; composed two of the tunes and produced four of the tracks. One of the big hits from the album is "Candy Man".

Success didn't go to her head. She went to Japan to study. She returned after two years to become a model, host, singer and actress. In 2005, she published her first book "All About A Girl" in which she shared her beauty secrets. In April, Wu released her second album "Look at Me".

Pace Wu is back in the spotlight. It's a familiar place for her. She is seen on the covers of fashion magazines, TV programs, and at celebrity parties. Singing remains her first love. She contracted with three companies to take her music to the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Taiwan and the international market.

Pace Wu is busy working on a new album. She's recorded a new single, "Sky Blue". Listeners will get their introduction to the tune when the album is released at the end of September.
