"Curse of the Golden Flower" withdraws from the Golden Chicken 100 Flower Awards, Jay Chou battles for Best Supporting Male

Yesterday (10th) afternoon, at the news conference for the 17th Golden Chicken 100 Flower Awards it was announced that "Curse of the Golden Flower" had withdrawn. The organisers expressed that they weren't clear about the reason but this won't affect Jay Chou as a nominee for Best Supporting Male.

The assistant director of the movie festival committee and the assistant general-secretary Liu Xiu Wen expressed the movie had candidates for awards, Zhang Yi Mou, Chow Yun Fat, Gong Li, Jay Chou, Li Man were in the running for Best Director, Best Male Lead, Best Female Lead, Best Supporting Male, Best Supporting Female respectively, but at the end only Jay Chou got nominated. But the withdrawal of the movie won't affect the award nominations, the movie association especially stressed that Jay Chou is still a nominee for Best Supporting Male.
