With her captivating smile and effortless glamour, Taiwan singer-actress Vivian Hsu is used to being the center of attention.
And from next month, her face will become familiar to every traveler on Shanghai's metro system.
Hsu is due to hit town this week to shoot a 20-episode mini series for Digital Media Group. The drama will be shown in subway cars and on platforms next month.
The story centers on a dancer, played by Hsu, who faces up to love, loss and life's big issues when her leg is injured. Each episode lasts three minutes, about the wait between trains.
Hsu got her start in entertainment after winning the "Talented Beautiful Girl" contest in 1990. She made her musical debut in 1991 aged 16 as a member of a trio named Girl's Group. Then she dropped singing to explore modeling and acting.
Earlier reports speculated that Hong Kong director Stephen Fung and singer-actress Karen Mok had broken up because of Hsu.
But Hsu denied rumors of an affair, adding that she and Fung were just good friends.
