Esther Liu (YanYan) Holds Her Birthday Party in a NightClub; Makiyo Didn't Want To Wear Clothes That Were Too Sexy

On the 8th of August, Taiwanese artist Esther Liu PinYan (YanYan of Sweety) appeared at the popular nightclub Primo in a strapless purple dress; it turns out that she was celebrating her 20th birthday that night at the club with friends. YanYan laughed, saying, "Turning 20 means that I've become an adult. I can drink legally now, and I kind of wanted to get drunk tonight, so I chose to hold my birthday party at the nightclub. Originally, I had planned to have my party at a motel or something, but... a bunch of people in a room, facing a bed... it seemed a little strange... so I gave up that idea."

YanYan requested that good friend Makiyo show up in head-to-toe gold; she hoped that her birthday party would have an "added" atmosphere and excitement and, thus, requested that all of her guests would be in either purple or gold. Mickey Huang ZiJiao (JiaoJiao) eagerly lifted his leg to show off his gold sneakers and prove that he had followed the birthday girl's wishes.

YanYan said that she had originally intended to have her birthday party on the 7th, but she had thought it a bit unsafe and inappropriate as it was this year's Chinese Valentine's Day, so she changed the date of her celebration to the 8th. Unfortunately, that then coincided with "88"-- Chinese Father's Day-- so the party was not scheduled to begin until late.

When asked what she did on Valentine's Day-- and night-- YanYan smiled and said that she had spent the night at home, chatting on MSN... she hadn't gone out at all! She started talking about her previous cell phone number, which she hadn't changed since high school. This made it easy for old classmates and fans alike to look up her number, and, as a result, she received a lot of strange calls, including ones where the speaker would ask only, "YanYan? Is this YanYan?" Finally, she had no choice but to change her number to avoid the phone calls. "Most guys don't know my new phone number, so they can't ask me out on dates, anyway!" she joked. When asked about the type of guy she likes, YanYan answered shyly that he must be taller than she and that he must be both mature and patient. She dislikes clingy guys-- especially those who call constantly to check up on her whereabouts and activities-- the most.

JiaoJiao and Makiyo prepared a birthday cake, complete with candles, for YanYan. YanYan made three wishes; her first wish was that all of her guests would make money; her second, that her mother's health would be good. The third she kept to herself, in her own heart... After YanYan blew out the candles, her guests playfully took the icing from the cake and smeared it on her face. Makiyo even exaggeratedly stuck out her tongue to lick YanYan, an action which made everyone present laugh uproariously. Makiyo expressed that, because of YanYan, she was breaking her personal "ban" on drinking alcohol, which she had kept already for three months. Makiyo joked that she was "responsible" for getting everyone at the party drunk; if she didn't drink, the party just wouldn't be exciting! She also said that she had specially compromised for YanYan tonight, choosing an outfit that wasn't overly sexy or revealing as she was afraid to steal the "limelight" away from YanYan. YanYan then said that she had originally planned to wear something much more revealing, perhaps a garment with an entirely open back-- but, because she was too busy with work, she had had no time to go shopping for such an outfit, and she had had to give up that idea as well. The reporter then asked where she had planned the original backless garment to end (on her back); YanYan laughed and replied that, in preparation for her revealing her back, she had had exfoliating treatments done all the way down to her buttocks!
