Yesterday, the Taiwanese film distributors of Hana Yori Dango Final (The Movie) invited new "idol drama big sister" Joe Chen QiaoEn and agency mates Ming Dao, Sam Wang ShaoWei, Ehlo Huang YuRong, and Jason Hsu MengZhe to film an advertisement. They were hailed as the "new Taiwanese version of ShanCai and F4"!
Chen QiaoEn's-- who has quickly become red-hot popular after acting in such SETTV dramas as 100% Senorita and Fated To Love You-- character in Fated To Love You, Chen XinYi, much like Hana Yori Dango's Makino Tsukushi (played by Inoue Mao), comes from a working class family and winds up in love with the son of a rich, established family; both characters follow the storyline of a "sparrow turning into a phoenix."
Yesterday afternoon, the "new Taiwanese version of ShanCai and F4" appeared at SETTV to promote Hana Yori Dango Final (The Movie); they hoped to bring the luck of "Fated To Love You" to Hana Yori Dango's box office ticket sales! When Chen QiaoEn appeared, garbed in an adorable kimono, she resembled so strikingly the Tsukushi (ShanCai) of the movie that the workers cried out repeatedly in alarm and pleasant surprise. QiaoEn expressed that, since her debut, many of her roles have been like a Taiwanese version of the "weed" Tsukushi (ShanCai), who rises and blossoms in the midst of opposition; thus, she can identify well with the character. When asked which of the F4 (manga, movie) guys (and types) she likes best, QiaoEn replied that she prefers calm men of few words, and that Hua ZeLei, who appears whenever ShanCai needs help, attracts her the most! QiaoEn also put on one of the movie's most important props: the beautiful tiara, covered in magnificent Swarovski crystals. During the photoshoot, QiaoEn was extremely careful, afraid that she would accidentally dislodge some of the jewels or crystals and let them fall to the ground.
As for the four guys, Ming Dao, Wang ShaoWei, Huang YuRong, and Hsu MengZhe-- when they heard that there were quite a few exciting action scenes and beautiful scenery shots in the movie, they directly began clamoring to enter the movie theater and watch Hana Yori Dango Final. The chemistry between Chen QiaoEn and the four boys-- who are all friends in real life-- was obvious; the photo session, which lasted all afternoon, seemed more like a party than anything else, and they seemed to be enjoying themselves to the fullest.
Rakuten Shopping, which came up with the idea of the kimono photoshoot, even held a joint event with the movie production company. Those who enjoy on-line shopping are invited to become members of Rakuten Shopping; anyone who joins before August 18 will earn the right to attend a special screening of Hana Yori Dango Final with QiaoEn.
Hana Yori Dango Final will open in Taiwan on August 29; it will be released by The Serenity Group.
