Best-selling on-line novelist 藤井樹 Teng JingShu put up the capital for turning his own novel, 夏日之詩 [Xia Ri Zhi Shi] [Poem For a Summer's Day], into a short film. Roy Chiu Ze agreed to act in the film with only a "friendship price;" 郎祖筠 Lang ZuYun agreed to direct the film for free and "dig" and coax out the cast's saddest emotions. Roy cried so much that he shook, trembled, and collapsed; he kept crying even after the scene was finished. Afterwards, he said, "It really hurt a lot, but it also felt very cool and refreshing!"
Roy said that, when filming crying scenes, he always thinks of his family; however, he wasn't willing to reveal just what painful memories he recalls to make the tears flow. 夏日之詩 [Xia Ri Zhi Shi] [Poem For a Summer's Day] tells the sad love story of a pair of on-line lovers. Roy said that he personally felt that making friends on-line was a bit like making friends with "spirits;" it wasn't very honest or dependable. Thus, he would never have a relationship with someone he met on-line; he would only converse with them.
Roy's on-line nickname is "查拉圖斯特拉 Zarathustra," a literary nod and allusion to German philospher Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche's 查拉圖斯特拉如是說 [Thus Spoke Zarathustra]. He admitted frankly, however, that the book was extremely abstruse; he didn't understand it. Upon his return from fulfilling his duty and service to the army, Roy has been treating acting very seriously; both he and author 藤井樹 Teng JingShu hope that 夏日之詩 [Xia Ri Zhi Shi] [Poem For a Summer's Day] will attract the interest and sponsorship of the wealthy, thus enabling them to fulfill their dream of filming a long movie.
