Ethan Ruan JingTian Wears Paul Smith's Fall and Winter Collection

Ethan Ruan JingTian's strong personal style and character are a good match for the slightly humorous, jocular style of Paul Smith. Ethan said, "The first shirt (dress shirt) that my father ever bought for me, when I was 13, was Paul Smith's!" This time, Paul Smith once again invited Ethan to walk in his runway show. He very suavely pulled off this fall and winter's "hero" style.

The inspiration for Paul Smith's fall and winter collection is the late-1970's to early-1980's rock band, Joy Division's, lead singer, Ian Curtis. A bit of decadence coupled with multiple layers of clothing, very fitted lines, close to the body, the new tailoring is like a blast from the past; the colors are a bit dark, but greatly saturated. Catwalk's Ethan Ruan's suave sophistication and figure provided a perfect model for Paul Smith's designs. The rose flannel jacket had an aristocratic air and a very strong Paul Smith "feel" to it; the gorgeous flowers were set against a dark, saturated background: the perfect foil and complement. The design was both graceful and unique. In the last set of clothes, which all featured jeans, Ethan was clad from head to toe in the new Psst! line. He sported a pair of super-skinny jeans, a heavily studded belt, and a short leather jacket; the whole outfit had a very strong "rock 'n' roll" feel to it.
